In September 2016, compared with the previous month, the production and sales of four major types of passenger cars increased among the major types of passenger cars. Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of cross-type passenger cars have both dropped by more than 30%, while other varieties have maintained rapid growth.
In September, the production and sales of basic passenger vehicle (cars) were 1.166 million and 1.1193 million, up 25.58% and 21.87% month on month and 27.52% and 17.07% year on year. Production and sales of sports multipurpose passenger vehicles (SUV) were 8669,000 and 879,000, up 33.56% and 33.71% month on month and 62.71% and 54.21% year on year. Production and sales of multi-function passenger cars (MPV) were 211,800 and 221,500, up 30.53% and 22.80% month on month, up 29.85% and 37.32% year on year. The production and sales of cross passenger cars were 46,400 and 48,600, up 29.80% and 8.30% month on month, down 31.97% and 32.36% year on year.
